Speculations: features in Ipad v2

My take: faster cpu, more ram, high quality front facing camera and mostly software “updates” like multi-user Facetime (Apple really need a real conference system if iChat is to be replaced).

Report: iPad 2 Will Have Two Omnivision Supplied Cameras, Faster Processor

Even when it debuted at the time, the iPad was conspicuous for its lack of forward-facing camera. Apple had obviously considered it: the iPad’s frame actually contains a hollow in which a standard iSight camera fits perfectly. Why didn’t they pull the trigger? Hindsight being 20/20, it’s pretty obvious now that Apple did not choose to install a camera in the first iPad because they hadn’t yet readied their FaceTime video chat standard: it would be stupid to supply hardware in the iPad that only Apple’s competitors were ready, at the time, to capitalize upon.

An even faster, high-quality and lightweight MacBook Air, ultra-portable and super-usable. Something like that.

Apple is not going to release a netbook as we know it. Just like they didn’t release a regular smartphone in 2007. If the rumor’s true, I’m ready to bet on a new way – perhaps more expensive, but classy – to intend small laptop computers.

It may be ugly, but you can’t deny that a wiener dog with an illuminated torso is pretty damn funny.
